Who the Qur’an is really for

Worth an objective reading

The Qur’an is conspicuously lacking any call to create a caliphate or enforce a formulaic religion.

This, naturally, is at odds with what the main sects of Islam assume. But the fact is that the word caliphate occurs nowhere in the text of the Qur’an. And nor – as the Traditionalist will readily proclaim – does the Qur’an provide directions for any type of religious ritual.

The Qur’an’s own proposition is something completely lost on those who identify with brand Islam. The Qur’an itself presupposes a pietist-evangelical movement – one which fights back when attacked – whose core duty it is to warn the leadership of the ruling godless tyranny prior to either repentance by the leaders of that tyranny on the one hand, or their destruction by God on the other. That is the Qur’anic model.

The Qur’an is teaming with instances of godless tyranny. This is of particular interest to people who have a grasp on political reality today since we are living under a godless tyranny; and not merely a godless tyranny, but one which has as its stated aim ‘full-spectrum dominance‘. That translates as absolute tyranny.

In my opinion, we are past the point of street protests and loudhailers. A tyranny as absolute as the one we already have is not going to be subdued by petitions, t-shirts and downloading the right apps for your iPhone. Nothing less than the retribution of the Almighty is going to bring these psychopaths to heel.

According to the Qur’an there is a time-honoured protocol for invoking that retribution, one about which traditionalist Islam is unaware or uninterested. Nevertheless, it is precisely this protocol which the Qur’an evokes – while stating that the call of the people who evoke it will largely be rejected and ignored.

My focus, then, is on people who are already awake and engaged with political reality as it is, not as we would like it to be. I find more people like this among the Patriot Movementthe Truth Movement and similar groups than I do typically among religionists of any stripe, and certainly more than I find among the chattering classes. Such ‘marginalised’ people already know we need a paradigm shift. They simply do not know that the Qur’an contains that paradigm shift because the Traditionalist has done such a good job of diverting people into – and distracting them by – an entirely separate body of literature upon which basis he has created a religion which only latterly became synonymous with the Qur’an.

The current work seeks to give my target audience full access to the Arabic Qur’an in the English language while systematically and rationally demonstrating where the religion commonly ascribed to the Qur’an is divergent from it.
